The Institute Dream - July 18th, 2016

The start of it began in my high school. I was walking to English, taught by Ms Salter. The room looked different, though: the walls were like a pale lemon/lime colour and all the tables were squares with four, black seats around them. I sat down next to Alex Wilkie (I used to have a crush on him when I was 8 years old). She began teaching the class, I listened for a little while, then got bored. So I started doodling on my notebook.

After class finished, I walked down the steps next to our library and down the east corridor. Then I was suddenly in a completely different place and the walls were pale blue. I realised I was in some kind of institution but I wasn't really sure how I'd gotten there. Then this big, gruff guard appeared and yelled at me because I was "out of my cell". He threw me in a little room and it all went black.

Next thing I know, the guard is back, and he opens my cell door. He says it's "recreation time" for the residential patients. I'm still not sure what I'm in here for but I agree to go. I notice whilst I'm walking there that I'm wearing all white...and that I'm a boy. The perspective of my dream shifts into third person and see I have short black hair and blue eyes (in reality, I have red hair and I wear red contacts). 

The recreation room looked exactly like my junior school computer room: it's small, poorly lit, and there are computers aligned along each wall. I sit next to someone who starts speaking to me: I realise later on that this was my best friend in the institute. When I'm talking to him, I notice this really pretty girl 4 seats down. She looks like a young Megan Fox. Really hot. She looks up and we stare at each other for a second. Then she goes back to typing.

The guard comes in and smacks me across the back of the head, tells me to stop making "googly eyes". I'm really starting to hate this guy. When he turns round, I look back at this girl. I remember that her name is Jennifer (I'm imagining that comes from the fact Megan Fox played a character called Jennifer in the film 'Jennifer's Body'). Then I have some kind of flashback and remember that Jennifer and I often met up in the recreation room to make-out and we were planning to elope together.

Back to the present. Guard is still turned away. Jennifer nods at me, leaps across the other people sitting next to her, and that's when everything gets a bit blurry. Her eyes go a strange red-ish colour and she sprouts wings (like flesh wings, ones that are organic and attached to her back). She grabs me and flies straight through a window and out into the open. I'm unusually calm about this and all I yell is "we did it!" and then everything goes black again.

I wake up and I'm in a military van with a soldier driving, a balding doctor with round spectacles, a woman in a doctor's uniform and my aforementioned best friend. We're driving down some kind of country lane, quite fast. The doctor is asking me what I remember. I say that all I remember is flying through a window. I then start to wonder where Jennifer is and how I ended up in a van. The doctor informs me that Jennifer disappeared and suspects she's been murdered...then he lowers his glasses and says "you were the last person seen with her, so you're the prime suspect".

I defend myself by saying I love her and would never hurt her.

We drive past a small school where children are outside, laughing and waiting to be picked up by parents. I have another flashback: I remember standing outside the entrance when two kids came up to me and started making fun of me. I was waiting for Jennifer to finish going to the ladies room. I told the kids to back off. One of the kids was called Aaron: he had blonde hair and brown eyes. He was actually a sweet looking kid. He started kicking me in the shins. Next thing I know I've pulled out a knife and I'm stabbing him in the gut. His friend runs away screaming, and Jennifer comes over, looking at me in confusion. I start crying, yelling that I didn't mean to, and drop the knife. She just smiles, takes my hand and leads me away.

End of flashback. Back in the van. I feel nervous because I said I'd never hurt Jennifer but apparently I ended up attacking a 10 year old. I'm not even sure I can trust myself at this point.

I can hear the soldier shouting, so we all look up. Jennifer is on top of a warehouse roof in a white gown that's incredibly fluid, as if it's floating  (kind of like the Oracle out of the film '300'). I notice she's heavily pregnant. I start to wonder how that happened...was that my doing?

The perspective of the dream reverts back to first person: now everything is through my eyes again. Jennifer disappears, and as we look forward, we're pulling into a dead end of abandoned warehouses. Flashes of Jennifer start to appear, as does a girl named 'Sarah', which my best friend informs me is his girlfriend. Sarah looks like the actress Amber Heard. She's also wearing white and is pregnant.

As we drive along, there are flashes of them everywhere, like some kind of reality glitch. Sometimes they are just floating, sometimes they're crying. We pull into this dark, blue warehouse and see Jennifer crouching on a wooden box, hissing at the headlights, and Sarah is in a large, round, wooden container, filled with water, legs up, trying to give birth. As soon as we pull up, she starts screaming. Her eyes are a weird yellow colour and she has pointed teeth. We all scream and immediately start reversing. The two are suddenly up and running at the van at full speed.

We back up into a wooden corridor. Suddenly, I'm out of the van, and it's just me running backwards, facing Sarah as she sprints at me. She turns into a variety of disturbing-looking creatures: a giant wolf that screams, an enormous green worm thing with blood-shot eyes that look in different directions, a weird hybrid of eagle and rat, and also at the end, turns back into Sarah but with those red eyes and flesh-wings that Jennifer has.

I trip backwards into a room. Sarah is gone. The room has graffiti everywhere, the windows are smashed in, there's no furniture...then I realise there's a bunch of soldiers shooting. They're yelling through the windows but I can't tell what they're yelling at. A lieutenant (very nice man named James) picked me up off of the floor and explains that these weird women with wings have invaded the town and are killing everyone. I realise Jennifer and Sarah probably gave birth and they started breeding these creatures.

He tells me to go home and be with my loved ones, so I walk outside, and I'm suddenly on Kingston Road. I see Jayne (my mother) standing outside our house looking really pissed off. I walk up to her to explain where I've been, but she's having none of it, and starts yelling how much of a failure I am. I suddenly lose my chill and stab her to death. Then I get in her car, not really knowing how to drive, and pull out onto Bramford Road; I see my dad in the rear view mirror, coming out onto the doorstep and seeing Jayne on the floor. His face had a mixture of horror and relief on it.

I drove around the corner into the Methodist Church car park and notice my aunt is next to me in her car, yelling at me to pull over. I accidentally crash into someone's Benz.

I roll down the window to ask her why she's there. She said "I heard you had a fight with your mum, I came to check if you're okay". I thank her for being so nice and explain that everything is fine. She looks at me and gives a sad smile. "No, it's not," she says. Then I woke up.
